What's happening ......
Lecture Theatre - is now ready for use by schools and groups. It is also a good conference venue for 70 people in a very unusual setting - contact for further details.
Newsletter - We are just about to produce our first newsletter 'Pelican Notes' which will be available to download soon.
New Aviaries - apart from rebuilding the damaged aviaries we hope to finish, by Easter, four others near the large ibis aviary. They will be for the finches and for our single birds 'Oscar' the african grey, 'Didgeree' the kookaburra and maybe a group of lovebirds.
New birds - in the next couple of months we are expecting some more humboldt penguins, a group of java sparrows for the finch aviary, a male seriema, touracos, plovers and a burrowing owl.
There will also be the departure of a few birds we bred in 2009 to other collections for breeding programmes.
