Discovery Zone & Marshmouth Nature Reserve
Birdland Park & Gardens has recently opened Gloucestershire’s newest wildlife education centre. The Discovery Zone area and Marshmouth Nature Reserve provide schools with a unique resource that can be booked together or used separately to create a hands on, fun way of interacting with and discovering nature.
Within our purpose built Discovery Zone there’s a small conference/lecture/classroom facility, interactive displays and facts about animals that lay eggs including invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, an area on incubators and hatching and an explanation to the question ‘what is a bird?’. We can organise talks with the Keepers, workshops and one to one animal encounters.
In the Marsmouth Nature Reserve children can go pond dipping, watch wild birds from strategically placed hives, see wild flowers, insects and bats amongst hundreds of other species of wildlife.
